However, there are a variety of different terms used such as platinum detail, gold detail, silver detail, bronze detail, deluxe detail, ultimate detail, luxury detail, showroom detail, supreme detail or full detail. The term complete detail is most commonly used in the wholesale auto detailing sector, where auto detailing businesses detail used vehicles for resale. For purposes of shopping around comparing different detail shop’s prices let’s just call it a complete detail.
When a first time shopper looks at a list of what is included in a complete detail it’s hard to tell what’s missing. There’s so many different things that are done it’s difficult to determine what isn’t included. Also, if one shop places an emphasis on a unique service not normally included in a complete detail, it becomes difficult to compare prices. Importantly, sometimes, detail shops warn of extra charges or that the price posted is subject to an initial inspection casting doubt on what the actual price will be. Some detail shops have pricing conditions and extra charges for those types of vehicles.
There are varying degrees of upholstery cleaning from light steam cleaning to deep shampooing. If you are trying to detail an extremely dirty cloth seat interior, a complete detail that only includes hot water extraction will not be enough, a deep cleaning brush shampoo process is necessary. It’s important to understand the difference between upholstery cleaning methods to ensure you are booking a complete detail that includes brush shampooing not just steam cleaning or hot-water extraction.
Some services such as paint correction, odour removal and luxury-steam-only detailing are custom services that can’t be booked and quoted online. that’s why detail shops rarely included these services in a complete detail.
